Since its creation in 2014, AWARE collected over 4,000 titles dedicated to women and non-binary artists, feminist and queer art history and theory, with works covering the 16th century to the present day. Bringing together exhibition catalogs, monographs, essays, research papers, and journals, this collection grew through donations, acquisitions, and exchanges. AWARE’s establishment at the Villa Vassillieff in 2021 strengthened this commitment and provided wider access to the materials.
From January 2026, this specialised fonds will be donated to the libraries of the École Normale Supérieure (ENS) and the Bibliothèque Kandinsky in Paris, enriching these public collections.
