The Louvre and AWARE have partnered to expand and share knowledge about women artists in the museum’s collections. Through this research-driven cultural collaboration, the Louvre’s Graphic Arts, Sculpture, and Art Objects departments have contributed artist biographies and research articles, now available on the AWARE website. This initiative has highlighted creators such as Sofonisba Anguissola, Lavinia Fontana, Adélaïde Labille-Guiard, and Julie Charpentier.

This year, the Louvre’s Painting department will join the initiative with new contributions. Each month, a new biography will be added to AWARE’s dictionary, furthering its mission to promote research and celebrate women artists.
