As part of its programme “Illuminating the Age of Enlightenment: Women Artists of the 18th Century“, AWARE has been working with the Rijksmuseum, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts Museum (PAFA), the Baltimore Museum of Art (BMA), the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO), the Alte Nationalgalerie Berlin and the Philadelphia Museum of Art (PMoA).
The “Women in New Media Art” research programme is supported by the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA), the Mori Art Museum, the Zentrum für Kunst und Medien Karlsruhe (ZKM), the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) and the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea (MMCA).
AWARE publishes biographical notes and articles based on the collections of the Musée d’Orsay in Paris, the Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA) and the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM). The exhibitions Radical Women (Hammer Museum, Los Angeles, 2017), She-Bam Pow POP Wizz! Les amazons du POP (1961-1973) (Musée d’Art moderne et d’Art contemporain -MAMAC, Nice, 2020) and Women in abstraction (Centre Pompidou, Paris, 2021) have also led to publications.
In addition, AWARE regularly co-organises conferences and symposia with institutions such as the National Portrait Gallery (London), the Pérez Art Museum Miami, the Petit Palais (Paris), the Centre Pompidou (Paris), the Musée d’Orsay (Paris) or Réunion des Musées Métropolitains Rouen-Normandie (RMM).
