For the second episode of Women House, Charlotte de Castelnau-L’Estoile has chosen to read three excerpts from A Woman in Berlin, an anonymous diary of written between April 20 and June 22, 1945.

Charlotte de Castelnau-L’Estoile is a historian and professor at the Université de Paris. She works on questions of colonial societies in the modern era (16th-18th centuries), particularly in Brazil. She recently published Pascoa et ses deux maris. Une esclave entre Angola, Brésil et Portugal au XVIIe siècle. PUF, 2019.
